Pradaxa Lawsuits Filed Over Serious Side Effects Including Internal Bleeding, Stroke, and Death

Pradaxa lawsuits are being filed over adverse side effects with the blood thinner, Pradaxa. Recent drug trials have revealed a number of very serious Pradaxa side effects, including:

  • Stroke
  • Heart Attack

Internal bleeding such as:

  • Gastrointestinal Bleeding
  • Kidney Bleeding
  • Intracranial Bleeding
  • Brain Hemorrhage

Pradaxa is used for the prevention of strokes, typically in patients with atrial fibrillation or irregular heartbeat. With this condition, patients typically have a higher risk of forming small blood clots that can cause strokes. Pradaxa is an anti-clotting agent used to lower the chance of blood clots forming.

Families of patients prescribed Pradaxa are now starting to pursue Pradaxa lawsuits.

Atrial fibrillation is a condition that primarily affects the elderly, which is a segment of the population particularly vulnerable to its reported dangerous side effects. Just recently, the death of an 83-year-old man was linked to a massive brain hemorrhage caused by Pradaxa use.

FDA Investigation Yields Serious Bleeding Links

The Cleveland Clinic studied data from several clinical trials that enrolled over 30,000 patients using Pradaxa. This research definitively linked Pradaxa to a 33 percent increase in heart attack risk. Following this, the FDA investigated an alarmingly large number of reports of serious Pradaxa bleeding side effects. To date, at least several hundred people have died as the result of Pradaxa internal bleeding side effects. Pradaxa lawsuits have been filed as a result.
